New Year To do List

Yay! It’s the new year!

2015 has arrived and I cannot be more excited!! New year is my favourite time of the year (apart from Christmas and my birthday) It’s time to reflect on the past year, what has been achieved, what hasn’t. Then time to press the big fat reset button and press play on a brand new year that will deliver us new opportunities and surprises.

I’m even more excited this year as 5 is my favourite number! It’s going to be a great year!!!

Have you done what most of the population does at this time of year?

Have you set new year resolutions? I personally don’t like new year resolutions. I never stick to them, so for me they are a waste of time.

What I do love to do is set a new year ‘to do’ list. It’s not a big list. it’s not even a fancy list. Nothing like a bucket list. It’s just a simple list of things I want to achieve this year. It’s totally separate to my long term goals and my business goals. It’s a little list of all the things you think about that makes you go ‘I’m going to do that one day’. Every year I do a new ‘to do’ list with about 12 to 24 items on the list that I want to tick of in the year ahead.

For example, last year I had on my list to eat lobster, which I had never had before in my life (and will never again, blerk!). This year I have things like, donate blood (which has always kinda scared me) and ride the new light rail for a round trip (that’s the new train here on Queensland’s Gold Coast).

I have some other big things on there as well. I like to have a bit of a balance, but things I can work into my year without being too ‘hard’ that they don’t get done. They are just things, that if I do nothing else this year, I can look back and say “well, at least I did that.”

Do you have a 2015 ‘to do’ list?

Why don’t you give it a go? I’ve even made you a free ‘to do’ list template that you can download and fill out. Download it here.

Or if this is not enough and you want to set some bigger goals, head over to our shop and download the My Goals – goal setting workbook.
